What is an Enterprise Zone?
Connecticut General Statutes, CGS 32-70, designates the establishment of the state’s Enterprise Zones. The purpose of the Enterprise Zone is to attract redevelopment, renewed investment, and job opportunities. Qualified industrial, commercial and residential properties are eligible for tax incentives.
A zone consists of a primary or secondary census tract or several contiguous tracts within a community. In order for a community to be eligible to establish a traditional Enterprise Zone it must meet certain criteria related to social and economic conditions.
