All owners of businesses, occupations, farmers and professionals
Owners of non-Connecticut registered motor vehicles
Owners of horses, ponies and thoroughbreds
Lessors (owners of property being leased to an entity within the city)

What is business personal property?
Business personal property is all items, goods, chattels, and effects (wares, tangible, and moveable) belonging to the business or entity. It does not include real estate or registered motor vehicles.

Who needs to file the Declaration of Personal Property?
All owners of businesses, occupations, farmers and professionals
Owners of non-Connecticut registered motor vehicles
Owners of horses, ponies and thoroughbreds
Lessors (owners of property being leased to an entity within the city)

When does the Declaration of Personal Property need to be filed?
In accordance with Connecticut General Statute 12-41, the Declaration of Personal Property is to be filed every year, on or before November 1 (or the Monday following if November 1 falls on a Saturday or Sunday). Reminder notification letters are sent in mid-September.
