The Bristol Police Department recently installed a Medical Collection Drop Box in the front lobby of the police department.  The collection box is part of the BPD’s ongoing effort to prevent drug abuse, overdoses and to promote the safe disposal of prescription drugs.   

The collection box was donated by Covanta, located in Bristol. Covanta has also donated their services to safely dispose of the collected drugs.     


Anyone wishing to rid their homes of potentially dangerous, expired, unused, or unwanted prescription drugs may do so by bringing their drugs to the front lobby of the Bristol Police Department and depositing the drugs in the collection box. The box is available 7 days a week and 24 hours a day. 
 

Needless, sharps, open containers of liquid, hazardous waste, thermometers and personal care products Can Not be deposited in the collection box.  

The service is free and anonymous, no questions asked.
