 The Bristol Water Department will be flushing hydrants in the following areas:

In an effort to reach more of our customer with important notices, we will be moving from print notifications to electronic media including our Website, Facebook, Twitter and Email notification.

We will be flushing these streets and the surrounding areas. Low pressure and discolored water is to be expected during flushing and for short periods afterwards. We recommend you refrain from washing clothes during this period.

Vance Road – Sewer Repair

Road Closure – Local Traffic Only

The City’s Water and Sewer Department has planned to perform a repair of a short section of sewer pipe on Vance Road on Thursday, June 17th.  The repair will be performed in the road in front of house numbers 81, 87, 93, 101 and 109.

Vance will be closed from the intersection of Hefbern Road to intersection of Vance Drive. Road will be open for local traffic only during that day.

We ask that residents avoid parking on the side of the road between house numbers 81 and 109 after 7:00 am Thursday morning so that they do not obstruct the excavation site.

Bristol Water Hydrant Flushing

This morning a customer brought to our attention that he had been contacted by someone who claimed to be in the Cancellation Department representing the Water Department. The individual said the customer owed for a meter and needed to make a payment immediately or their service would be terminated.

Bristol - The Bristol Water Department is advising customers to be cautious of two individuals posing as water company employees in an attempt to enter residential homes.

Recent television and newspaper articles have raised concerns regarding pharmaceuticals in the wastewater stream and their impact on drinking water quality. Fortunately, Connecticut is only one of two states in the nation that prohibits discharges from wastewater treatment plants within public water supply watersheds.
